16-Day Tanzania Christmas Adventure Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania – Moshi

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where our team will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel in Moshi. Meet your climbing guide for a briefing and equipment check, then rest before your Kilimanjaro adventure begins.

Day 2: Rongai Gate to Simba Camp

After breakfast, drive to Rongai Gate for registration and begin your Kilimanjaro climb. Walk through forest and farmland toward Simba Camp, enjoying the quieter northern side of the mountain.

Day 3: Simba Camp to Kikelewa Camp

Today’s trek continues through moorland with wide views across Kenya and northern Tanzania. Arrive at Kikelewa Camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Kikelewa Camp to Mawenzi Tarn Camp

Climb gradually toward Mawenzi Tarn, beneath the dramatic Mawenzi peak. Spend the afternoon resting and acclimatising at this beautiful high-altitude camp.

Day 5: Mawenzi Tarn Camp to Kibo Hut

Cross the lunar-like Saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. Reach Kibo Hut, where you will rest early and prepare for the summit attempt.

Day 6: Summit Day – Uhuru Peak to Horombo Hut

Begin your summit attempt shortly after midnight. Reach Uhuru Peak, Africa’s highest point, then descend to Horombo Hut for a well-earned rest.

Day 7: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate – Transfer to Moshi

Descend through rainforest to Marangu Gate and receive your summit certificate. Transfer back to Moshi for a hot shower, celebration dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Moshi to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, begin your Tanzania safari. Drive to Tarangire National Park, known for its large elephant herds, giant baobab trees and diverse birdlife. Enjoy an afternoon game drive.

Day 9: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park

Travel through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area toward the endless plains of Serengeti National Park. Enjoy game viewing en route and arrive at your camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Full-Day Safari in Serengeti

Spend a full day exploring the Serengeti. Look for lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes and other wildlife. Your guide will choose the best areas according to the season and animal movements.

Day 11: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Enjoy a morning game drive in Serengeti before travelling to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Arrive near the crater rim for dinner and overnight.

Day 12: Ngorongoro Crater Safari – Fly to Zanzibar

Descend into Ngorongoro Crater for a spectacular wildlife drive. This natural caldera is one of the best places in Tanzania to look for the Big Five. Later, transfer for your flight to Zanzibar and check into your beach hotel.

Day 13: Stone Town and Zanzibar Coast

Discover Stone Town’s narrow streets, historic architecture, markets and spice heritage. Later, transfer to your beach hotel on Zanzibar’s coast for a relaxing evening.

Day 14: Zanzibar Beach Relaxation

Enjoy a free day on the beach. Swim in the Indian Ocean, relax by the pool, take a sunset walk or choose an optional activity such as snorkelling, diving or a spice tour.

Day 15: Zanzibar Leisure Day

Spend another peaceful day enjoying Zanzibar at your own pace. This is the perfect time to reflect on your Kilimanjaro climb and safari memories.

Day 16: Departure from Zanzibar

After breakfast, transfer to Zanzibar Airport for your international departure flight. Your 16-Day Tanzania Christmas Adventure ends with unforgettable memories of mountain, wildlife and ocean.
